In February I was lovingly surprised with a gift of Rudraksha Mala beads. Mala beads are a string of beads traditionally used in prayer and meditation. They are also a beautiful reminder of our intentions.
Mala beads can be created with many different stones, as well as wood, and you can choose them according to the energy you need, or desire in your life. For instance, you can choose one with rose quartz which encourages love and harmony of self and others, or sandalwood which helps the mind to unwind and opens the heart to love, as it subdues aggression and irritability, promotes compassion, and enhances meditation. Whatever your needs you can find the corresponding beads.
The Rudraksha beads, which are evergreen seeds, are said to be made by Lord Shiva’s tears. It is said that after a long and deep meditation for the welfare and happiness of all the living beings, that lasted a thousand years; Lord Shiva opened his lotus shaped eyes, and feeling sorrow for the suffering of humankind, a compassionate tear fell from his eyes and grew into the Rudraksha tree. The Rudraksha bead is believed to contain the entire universe and its benefits include; balancing the Chakras, protection from accidents and negative events, awakens Kundalini, increases self-power, controls stress, and much, much more. In short, people use the Divine Rudraksha to obtain maximum spiritual, physical and material benefits.
I begin my journey anew with the aid of Rudraksha, and with deep, deep gratitude for being presented with such a blessed gift.
